Thank you for your enquiry.

As per your enquiry you cannot concentrate and you suffer from depression and confusion. You had some medicines prescribed by the doctor for depression but there was no relief.

Depression is described as feeling sad, unhappy, miserable and dejected. At least once or twice in our life most of us experience occasional outbreaks of anxiety or temporary depression.

However clinically you can say a person is suffering from depression if these feelings of sadness, anger, frustration, anxiety interfere with your everyday life for a long period of time.

You can be affected by depression in many ways and it can cause a wide range of symptoms.

Emotionally the symptoms vary from feeling sad, hopeless, loss of interest in things you use to enjoy, feeling very tearful or anxious, low or irritable mood, change is sleep pattern – feeling sleepy/lack of sleep, feeling worthless, lack of interest in sex, there is self-hate and guilt.

Physically there may be a big change in appétit, often with weight gain or loss, feeling constantly weak, tired and lack of energy, constant aches and pains, slow or fast movements and repeated thoughts of death or suicide.

However the severity of the symptoms may vary. When depression is mild you may simply feel low and in severe cases you may feel your life is worthless.

In your case you are depressed, you have difficulty in concentrating and your mind is confused.

According to Ayurveda depression is the suppression of one’s prana or life force energy. 

This life force energy provides the will to live thus when you lack this energy there is a loss of interest in life.

Moreover vitiated dosha in the brain and external factors contribute to depression as well.

As you suffer from confusion and lack of concentration there is major vata Dosha imbalance in you.
